Ponte de Lima is a perfect place for a pilgrim on the Camino to take a rest day. Perfect place to get your laundry done properly, catch up with your sleep. Lots of nice restaurants to eat in. Many interesting alleys to walk through and enough sights to take in a day.

Ponte de Lima is a remarkably well-preserved, historically important village in Northern Portugal. It has been a crossroads for centuries. Probably for a Druids-like culture, definitely for the Romans, for hundreds of thousands of pilgrims walking the historic Camino (Caminho in Portuguese), as well as for people traveling east-to-west from the mountains to the Atlantic.
Today, Ponte de Lima continues to be an important crossroads as well as gathering space for walking & hiking, cyclists, various forms of boating (with a champion training center along the Rio Lima), horse riding, international gardening and more.
It's hard to fully explain how much cultural importance there is in Ponte de Lima for the Minho (region), Portugal (as a country), and, indeed, all of Europe in such a small village. Well worth visiting.
I spent three weeks there, fell in love with the village, and like it so much that I intend to move there.

The village is beautiful as well as the bridge, which we walked from end to end. There were several good restaurants to choose from. Everything is within walking distance. There are great sculptures spread throughout town. We would come again.

My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years.
My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years. It has changed and become much busier over the years. However, it has managed to retain its friendly low key ambience. It is still possible to recognise the town of years ago despite the changes. A truly lovely place.

Picturesque, regional town, with old architecture and great walks within the town and its hinterland. The town opens onto a broad riverfront with great views including of a historic multi-arched bridge which gives the town its name.

Ponte de Lima is a historic town, with a medieval and a Roman bridge across the Lima. Fascinating. We stayed there overnight as part of a Minho cycling trip (self-arranged).
Had a lovely supper at the Restaurante Encanada.
Quality of furnishings and facilities within the room was excellent. Excellent attention to detail and what we really appreciated was that it is just so nice to be able to make tea or coffee in your room - when you want to! Really difficult to find any fault. These are among the nicest rooms we've stayed in anywhere in Europe - or in North America! Excellent service and courtesy from Maria and her staff. Breakfast was excellent! Also, lots of car parking space at the back of the hotel - and space in front if needed!
It was impeccably clean and well appointed with very comfortable beds and showers, high end appliances and kitchenware, bath products including slippers… like a high end hotel. There are a few bars on the street but the windows kept it soundproof. We really enjoyed the mini deck in the back as well.
The gentleman who received us was lovely and they even left us a bottle of vinho verde and a typical local pastry.
Ponte de Lima itself was a real discovery - a gorgeous town full of history
This is a lovely accomodation. The appartment is very nice and modern. And with two floors with two bathrooms it is the perfect place for the family with teenagers.
The garden is wonderful and full of fruits and vegetables that you can pick.
The house is very close to both bath, cafes and the city of Ponte de lima.
Fernando and his wife is the best hosts that you can have. Hospitality and service is their keywords.
So nice and we will definitely come back.
Ponte de Lima is a city full of history, and so is Quarto das Lamparinas. Step back in time and enjoy a room in an old quinta oozing charm. It has all the basics inc a great hot shower, kettle with a range of herbal teas plus access to a wonderful garden and woodland. It's a minute's walk to all the restaurants and the famous bridge. The host is helpful and friendly, a perfect stay.
The host went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. The reception, the hotel restaurant and the sitting areas are decorated with antique objects and gadgets of the host family that lived there. The view from the room window is lovely, overlooking the bell tower and the alleys of Ponte de Lima. Pleasant, beautiful and clean rooms.
Christina was awesome. This is the best hotel we have stayed on during our trip on the Portuguese Camino. The room was fantastic. Christina was such a big help. Having a washer and dryer was a blessing on this white Camino. We loved the shared kitchen on the top floor. So beautiful
I cannot say enough good things about this charming little hotel. Only a one night stay and I wish it had been longer. The staff, the grounds, the rooms, the decorations, the views, and everything else about it far exceeded my expectations.
I loved this hotel. I was warmly received. The room had AC which was great. I had a balcony with a nice view of the river. I had a good meal in the restaurant. It's right in the middle of Ponte de Lima. I would stay here again.
It was easy to enter, had all that I needed and the bed and shower were the best I’ve had in Portugal. Easy to access from the camino route. The owner was exceptionally helpful and love and spoke perfect English.
The apartment is very well located, less then 10 minutes walk from the historical center of Ponte de Lima. The bedrooms have a great size and comfortable beds. Great apartment for a familly trip.
Definitely my favourite place so far! If I came back to Portugal for a holiday, I would definitely stay here again. Really comfortable, clean and staff could not be more helpful. A*******
Perfect base for us whilst we were searching for our new home in the area. Such a beautiful place. The hotel was spotless and the staff were fantastic. Would not hesitate to recommend 👌
