This was the best experience I have had with accommodations during my month of travel. The staff were extremely helpful, the facilities were amazing, the room was luxurious and the location, perfect. I highly recommend Dona Maria. Also, get the breakfast, it's worth it!

The staff was always at the ready, friendly and efficient. Amenities galore - did not get to try the mini-theatre! The location could not have been better - walking distance to center and local beach.
The Exe Wellington hotel reflects the maritime character of Figueira da Foz in all its rooms.

I love this hotel! The staff is friendly. If you are ever there, book a massage with Sarah! She's phenomenal. There is another masseuse who I am sure is equally great, but I usually have my massage in the evening. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. I take a book and relax while I eat way too much! I even won some money at the casino next door!

I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino.
I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino. The incredibly large beach made for great walking. The boardwalk and the promenade were excellent for walking, too. Not a hilly town, per se. And I don't think i would care for high summer season. Uber is easily available and taking the train to / from Coimbra was inexpensive and easy.
I am a serious walker (average 6-8 miles a day) so I found the town easy to navigate.

We spent most of our time close to the Hotel and at Praia da Claridade/ Praia Alto do Viso.
Since it was just one night, we couldn't bring a lot of comments to this.
Nevertheless, we walked thru the night and we had dinner at Feito ao Bife, which is a very nice meat place, where you can eat different types of meat on the stone.
People from Figueira are very kind and warm.
They offer a lot of services and there is as well a Casino if you like to try your luck.
The city in a half season is quite easy to walk or drive.

Figueira da Foz seems to be a working town, not too much of a tourist town. Although it was not beach season and the beach was fog covered, it was very large and beautiful. We found some very good restaurants with traditional Portuguese food.

We loved Fig da Foz!
We loved Fig da Foz! A fairly quite resort town, just what we like! The only drawback is a pulp or paper mill located south of town. When the fog comes in so does the smell of the mill. We would consider living here if the mill is not a huge problem.

I was there in September and it was already dead.
I was there in September and it was already dead. Loads of things closed.
It's pleasant enough with good public amenities but there really isn't anything to do except explore the excellent beach.
Getting around without a car can be a challenge: the station is 25 minutes from the beach and although quite a few buses go to the market (much fewer to the beach) it's close to impossible to find out about them.
I hardly ever saw a taxi.
The best bit for me was lunch at the excellent Cafe Praca 18.

The Claridade Beach is the best place I have visited in Figueira da Foz, lots of seafood and restaurants near by. Jet7.5 near Praça do Forte is a great restaurant with live music! Worth to have a try. I quite enjoy walking by the beach, so all my visit was on foot.

It’s an average hotel, which means that it will cover your need to have a bed and a roof above your head. I stayed in a suite, which came with lots of space, a nice bathroom and some privacy from the rest of the hotel.
The breakfast is rich and plenty. Unfortunately it started way too late for me to enjoy, as I had to go to work. Thirty minutes earlier would be better.
It’s in a central location which can be good when it comes to accessing the city but….
This is a lovely house with even lovelier staff. I was teleworking and needed a quiet place to work, so the staff let me check in 2 hours earlier and on the day of my departure let me use the breakfast area until the evening, brining me cookies and coffee to make sure I was comfortable. I really appreciated this flexibility.
I loved the design in the hotel and the attention to detail. The breakfast is amazing.
The location is like a hotel with several rooms and a common area with a kitchen. There's no services from the staff apart from the general cleaning. That's odd but also nice since you'll meet the other guests.
The beach is the main thing, very close and really nice. Getting out of the little village (no ATM and only small mini markets) needs a car.
Also, could someone explain how the 5 star hotel is down in the valley with no ocean view? Just, for me, a really nice place to relax, get some sun, grocery store is right over there, sushi, espresso right down at the board walk, walk to the harbor, really? Just perfect to relax for a weekend. Also there is a piano at the bar.
i think when i book a hotel or hostel, i want to have a very good sleep there very comfortably on clean bed and pass my night. but if the blanket seems to be very dirty or something like that bed does not looks clean then ...... otherwise room was okey and have shower and toilet private inside the room. location was good.
What I really liked was the fact that it was something out of the norm. Instead of the normal hotel experience we decided to do a little "camping tour", with the most adorable puppy. Really fun, highly recommend it for camping enthusiasts, but with some precautions...
I am so impressed with the constant care and concern from the staff. They have gone above and beyond to make my stay as delightful as possible. I only speak English, so they have gone the extra mile to communicate with me. I cannot say enough good about this hotel.
This is just a fantastic place! The view from the hotel rooftop or the pool is simply breathtaking. Very clean and cozy. The tomatoes and other greens from their own garden are a must-try! The staff is responsive and courteous. I will definitely come back here again!
Spacious, comfy, spotless clean and lovely designed apartment in the heart of Figueira da Foz. Close to the beach and restaurants. Not to mention wonderful and supportive hosts. We would really love to stay there for longer one day!
One night stay with late arrival and early departure with no time to enjoy the hotel facilities. Modern hotel, located right in front of the beach. Room was nice, clean and confortable. Price (off season) was very good.
The room was very spacious and the balcony amazed us with the ocean views. It is wonderful to spend a weekend by the sea. The hotel is very near the restaurant area in Figueira da Foz, the Forte and Farol.
the property has recently been updated. it looks 5 stars and feels 5 stars. a hotel with Stokke chair for the small kids plus high chairs plus play room plus cinema plus gym plus pool. we will be back.
Thank you especially to Monica for helping us check in during a downpour! This us a great hotel.. close to lots of restaurants...quiet, parking nearby. Very comfortable bed and modern bathroom.
Simple, clean, with lots of character. Can’t beat it for the price. Would return. Hotel owner great. I couldn’t speak Portuguese. He couldn’t speak English well, so we settled on German!
Lovely frontline hotel more like an apartment (well it had no facilities) with lovely views
Limited car parking but managed to get a parking space right on the hotel
