Breakfast was great! The staff responded positively to my requests. My room was very quiet. I liked the fresh air coming in from outside. The front desk was professional and friendly.

Great location right on the Camino Portuguese path. The hosts were welcoming. We reserved 2 rooms for our group. Very nice rooms! Super clean with small balcony. We had the dinner. It was delicious! Great stay for our Camino. Highly recommend!!

This town is a car crash! - despite Unesco city of creativity.
1-2 hours plenty to look around the last remaining intact bits of town, apart from visiting on a Thursday when supposedly there is a market going on.
So many other places to see in the area!
Why waste your time?

We were there for Dance World Cup finals in Braga so didn't see a lot of Barcelos but surrounding areas very beautiful. Lots of stunning countryside covered in vineyards. Definitely would go back to explore more!

The city is beautiful and with a lot of monuments and churches to visit. It also had some pretty interesting shops in a central shopping area and some interesting looking restaurants. From traditional to hipster food- you can find everything there. The day I visited, the city had a huge market in the center, street food and entertainment. There were some traditional music concerts, traditional dancing, flower and light decorations all over... Very pretty. I was positively surprised by the mixture of historical and city-like vibes.

This is a wonderful town on the Portuguese Camino with a significant amount of charm and history. Spend some time in the town. The tourist office is extremely helpful and informative. They are a whole host of options for food and shopping.

Barcelos is an attractive market town, worth a visit in its own right. We visited to see the famous Thursday morning market but were a little disappointed. As veterans of many markets around the world, this was large and certainly worth seeing for the wide range of delicious local produce, including ducklings and other young fowls for sale and traditional gardening and tilling instruments plus locally made diy materials. There was modern furniture too. However, we found the pottery and earthenware a little disappointing, stall after stall of basic chunky red clay pots, but few quality or hand painted items. Also few traditional cotton items for which Portugal is so renowned - towels, bedspreads, curtains, tablecloths. We could happily have spent more time exploring Barcelos itself but had only allowed time for the market, before the short drive to Porto.

Barcelos is a sleepy, medieval town where we stayed for 4 nights in total. The town has several nice bars and restaurants with numerous medieval buildings if you're after some history.
The one downside being we struggled to get Ubers out of the town and down to Porto and Braga.
The property was exactly like in the pictures and it was really clean and packed with loads of details.
The hosts went the extra mile allowing us to check out later. They were replying to messages really quick and were understanding when we provoked a small issue with one chair in the living room.
Barcelos is a very nice town very convenient to visit Braga, Guimaraes and Porto. It's full of places to eat and have drinks and do some nice sightseeing too
I would recommend this property 100%
Amazing family-run country estate surrounded by nature, green hills and lemon groves. The staff was extremely caring and accommodating (Phillipa, we already miss you!), facilities and location are excellent, a nice breakfast. A perfect spot for a relaxing vacation with tons of options for exciting day-trips all around the wonderful Northern Portugal. We hope to be back next year!
Sandra coordinated with us to hand off the key on our arrival. She has curated the art in the apartment with a great sense of color, from her own bold art to folk art. She left us an excellent array of bread and treats for breakfast. And she provided lots of information about Barcelos. This place is a unique gem!
Great little place with tastefully decorated interior with attention to details. Great breakfast in the place right next to it, they also offered discount for a wonderful restaurant down the street where we had fabulous dinner the same night. Centre of Barcelos is very close, within walking distance.
The room was a lovely design, and very clean. Situated within a lovely garden. A nice conservatory room for breakfast, cooking, playing games (provided) etc. Situated 10 min drive from the beautiful town of Barcelos. Overall, very good value for money. We would stay here again for sure.
The room was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely bathroom close to the Camino route. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and comfortable areas to rest and to relax next to the pool. Good complimentary breakfast and espresso coffee machine in the room that we enjoyed.
Close to the centre of town, and located near restaurants. Room was big enough to include a tiny desk with the only chair in the room. Largest shower I have experienced so far in Portugal. Breakfast in the main hotel was lovely.Very pleasant hotel staff both at checkin and breakfast.
Perfect localization: close to the centre of Barcelos and the IPCA campus. Nearby are cozy cafes, restaurants and shops. Room cleaned every day and new bottle of mineral water provided each day. Lovely, private small balcony and TV. Well-equipped kitchen. Very kind service staff :-)
On the Camino! Literally right in it. We were so tired after 18 miles we showered and stayed in on a rainy night. However , Barcelos is charming and I wish we’d have the energy to enjoy! Breakfast was amazing. I would absolutely stay there again
The location was in central Barcelos, very close to the Camino route. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Barcelos is very interesting, there are a lot of historic buildings and there was a food market on which was great
Amazing family property, a lovely garden and pool. The family is welcoming and the staff is very helpful. Has great potential but lacks a bit of that hotel professional service that justifies the price.
The location is optimal for exploring Barcelos...The interior is a mix of the old with the new...Wifi was good...The bed was comfortable...Mini bar with tea and coffee and bonus...
