This hotel is literally within the fortress walls. It was in a perfect location for us, close to town but also close to the park and a beautiful walk up the coast. It was generally very quiet with the sound buffered by the fortress walls. We loved the breakfast buffet, filling up every day so we had no need for lunch. I appreciated that we were shown the short cut to the marina, exiting through the wall in the lower level. The swimming pool was lovely

This hotel was perfect for our ladies tennis get away. We played on their lovely court every day. The breakfasts felt relaxed, with lots of delicious foods to choose from. Our room with a balcony had a view of the pool and the sea, it was divine. The hotel, discovered it was my birthday and surprised me with a lovely birthday cake and Prosecco in my room, such a nice gesture.

Amazing location and really wanted to return but the black mould on the walls and curtain was so bad. After pointing it out and ask n for it to be sorted .. nothing was done. And reception played the pass the buck card .
So black mould n the room both is a health risk and should be avoided at all cost to health
Unfortunately had to ask for the complaints book in the hope the manager will sort it out and nobody else will have a holiday ruined buy this very unacceptable issue .

The room was large and very comfortable. The staff made my experience. It was a busy time with a tennis tournament yet they gave me all the attention I needed and greeted me by name each time I called or came by the desk. They were very professional and personal.

It was not difficult to get around Malveira da Serra w/o a vehicle. We were able use buses, the local train and the odd taxi/uber ride to economically and efficiently move around the Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra regions. There were also several restaurants - reasonable and good w/in walking distance of Sunny Soul. We particularly enjoyed Estrela da Serra for its entrees, soups, desserts and service!!
