Located 1640 feet from the N14 Circunvalaçao Road and 12 minutes' drive from Porto Airport, Star Inn Porto is the city’s first low-cost design hotel.

Comfortable bed, enough extra pillows, easy to find though we were driving in a foreign country. It was also clean and quiet. We did not use the TV. Public transportation was handy and we left our car in their parking lot the two days we were there. A 10€ breakfast was available but we chose to eat elsewhere, so cannot give advice on that one way or the other.

Compact city centre with lot to see and do. A lot of hills but manageable. Lots of restaurants and bars. Shopping and markets are good but a lot of tourist shops as well. Good beach only a short bus metro ride away.Feels safe with police visible on the street. Great and cheap transport system. Locals are friendly and willing to help.

It was the second occasion to stay in Porto.

It was the second occasion to stay in Porto. Lovely, friendly city with all the historical sites: vintage trams, cathedral, parks, churches, cafes in a beautiful hilly location. We travelled from Lisbon by train as it takes 3hrs to get to Porto. Excellent public transport where the metro is actually a tram having excellent network. Wonderful atmosphere is there like everywhere in Portugal.

Incredibly overpriced, overall mediocre service, features and facilities. Average quality food, nothing outstanding. Overall, the vacation in Portugal was a waste of time and money. Would have been fine if the prices were not jacked up by 100% over a few years ago. Find a better place to spend your money.

Porto is a wonderful city, but was a bit overrun by tourists on my most recent trip... much more than I remember from prior trips. Try to avoid the busy travel season, if possible. Also, make sure to take a day trip to the Douro Valley.

There is a lot of emphasis put on Porto and it is lovely.

There is a lot of emphasis put on Porto and it is lovely. It is worthy of a 1/2 day trip to grab a taste of the various sardines and local seafood at the market; book your ticket early to see Livraria Lello; cruise the riverwalk area and take a short port tour if that is your interest. It is easy to walk around Porto and driving was not an issue. The market has an abundance of local delicacies to try-sardines in a variety of flavors for 1E or purchase fresh seafood, mushrooms and herbs to go with the made on sight pasta to cook later. The Livraria Lello bookstore was the most uniquely wonderful bookstore to browse. They have created small easily portable books of the classics in a variety of languages for a truly special souvenir for the book and Harry Potter enthusiast. On way to the river, stop by the train station to absorb the history glazed into the azulejo tiles--fascinating artwork. At the end of the day, a casual walk along the river and a snack while enjoying the view is perfect. OR---take the last port tour of the day at Burmester, walk over the bridge and then relax along the river with a snack to soak up the port.

The friendliness of the staff was exceptional, we were made to feel at home from the moment we walked into the hotel, nothing wasn't too much trouble. Our room had a balcony (5th floor) decent sized room with a safe, nice bathroom. The location was very good as we were first time visitors to Porto, easy to find everything, metro nearby as well as busses and train station. Lots of restaurants nearby and one under the hotel. Good continental breakfast provided. We would certainly stay at this hotel again when we revisit Portugal.

The "house" is situated in a quet, residential area. It is in close proximity to the Metro, groceries, cafes, and restaurants. As it is far enough away from the tourist zone, restaurants are more reasonably priced. The house comes equipped with all the basic amenities. The shower has to be the best we had in all our stay in Portugal. It has a rain shower head and provides adequate water pressure and hot water. In addition, the hosts were very quick to respond to a couple of minor issues.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. Fatima and Calo were the most inviting and kind hosts, and I would stay here again just to see them. The room was huge, breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect - just a little off the beaten path to be quiet, but close enough to easily get to all the tourist spots. We could not have asked for a better spot for the end of our trip in Portugal.

The location is very good if you want to stay outside of the noisy and busy center but still a few minutes away by car/taxi and it has a manageable walking distance. The hotel has a totally normal, safe and good parking - a rarity in Portugal - and we were given 3 days free of charge.

Location is super great not to far not in central so perfect.

The breakfast was quite good but not exeptional. Almost no hotel in Portugal offers natural orange juice although oranges grow everywhere.
