The whole experience was much better thanks to the hospitality of the manager (José) and the owner (Joāo) They took care of things and kept asking questions to customise my experience at the place. so with a lovely accommodation with breathtaking 180 degree view and such cozy, beautiful city I exceeded my expectations about Penacova. You could be at Swiss alps, such high hills and astonishing valleys finishing at Montego River. I will come back again and staying at the same accomodation !NevilleAustralia - 10Scored 10
A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays.

The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated...
The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated are fabulous. There isn’t a lot to do in the town but there are some good facilities eg Cota restaurant and Cafe Turismo. In the warmer weather the river beach is an asset. If you are looking for a quiet place off the beaten track Penacova is for you.HHilaryUnited Kingdom

There is local supermarket (lidl) nearby and the little town of Penacova has lots of viewpoints which are easily accessible from the hotel. The price was reasonable and the room was spacious. Very good price for quality, indeed. Wi-fi worked well and air conditioning was available and also working. Overall very satisfied with the booking. They provided some nice touches including cookies and coffee. The place is quiet, just in the outskirts of Penacova. There are a few coffee shops nearby, proper restaurants are around 2 Km away. The host was amazing, very friendly, and allowed to store bicycles in the garage downstairs.

It is also easy to go by car to the river beach of Vimieiro and the old mills. A family runs the inn and has a store in the same building. The staff are very helpful. There is a mini-fridge in the rooms and an amazing balcony facing the village and mountains, great for relaxing and watching the sky.
