Beautiful part of Porto, right over the river with plenty to do. Most of the Porto wine "caves" are on this side of the river but getting across is a quick uber ride. We did a Tuk Tuk tour as well and got to enjoy a Fado performance at night. New Years Eve dinner cruise was great but book ahead so you don't miss out! I would definitely visit again!

The area has plenty of interesting things to visit.
The area has plenty of interesting things to visit. Of course, the region is very well known for the vineyards and the respective Port wine cellars, which you can visit and even have a wine tasting. A walk by the river is also recommended.

Being across the river from the old town means gorgeous views and a wonderful relaxed vibe. So many great places to eat and drink all within a short walk. And the old town is easily accessible by foot, tram, even cable car. You are surrounded by the port warehouses, and other renovated industrial buildings. The whole area has had a recent facelift and the city as a whole is very safe and friendly. Everywhere you go the staff and shopkeepers go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. Except the lady in the tourist information. She must have been having a bad day!

Great for walking, views and access to historical areas of both sides of the river. People are suer friendly, and the area is very touristy. We walked the waterfront for several miles and had a great time, as well as the normal touristy stuff.

We enjoyed using the cable car and it was a short walk over the bridge to Porto.

Golden Tulip Porto Gaia Hotel Is one of the best hotels i was in my travelling. The crew, Juliana and Anderson were very helpful and kind. Juliana took care to all my request and was kind in helping anything, therefore i thank her a lot for making my stay much more pleasant. The room was amazing, everything was more than perfect, the furniture the view is outstanding. Definitely a wise decision i made in life to go and take this hotel.
The property was amazing. The hotel is gorgeous with all the different details. The room views to the river are breathtaking. The location is incredible just a few minutes walking from Porto and other cool spots. The staff was extremely nice and went above and beyond with our requests can’t thank them enough. The breakfast was very good with everything that you need to fill up for the day.
Beautiful room with private balcony overlooking the Duoro River and the town of Porto. Great location with a back entrance that gives access to the town below. Wonderful dining facilities, so nice to have an after dinner drink in the evenings at Dick's Bar out on the Terrace and watch the sun going down over the town. Generally a beautiful Hotel. I will definitely want to come back.
The location is fantastic!
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly!
My boyfriend had birthday and he got a birthday cake sent to our room!
The hotel for inside is very beautiful and decorated!
They have one bar on the 11th floor which have an amazing view and is also nice to watch the sunset!
I would definitely stay in this hotel again whenever I visit Porto!
Wonderful hotel! The view and location are a fantastic starter in Porto, you’re just a minute away from the port houses and a small walk away from the restaurants and center. We had a warm welcome and a beautiful room with a view of Porto. We wanted a late check out and that was no problem, we could also store our suitcases for a few hours after check out.
The lady in the hotel was very gentle and helpful. Due to the fires in Portugal I could not make the initial reservation and showed up in the hotel three days earlier. Although both reservations were non-refundable she accepted to refund me for the non-show day. An excellent breakfast and very willing staff to help on everything we asked.

Helena is the best host ever!!! She and her husband Louis are carefull about every details to make you feel like home: breakfast has a lot of choices, the room spacious and bed very confortable, location is quite strategical: few steps away from Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia river side. Everything was perfect!!!!
Every member of the staff was exceptionally nice (this hotel only employs happy, helpful people). Our room overlooked the Douro and Porto. The view was stunning at night. Extraordinary breakfast. We liked the location because we could walk to the Quintas. Uber to Porto attractions was inexpensive (7 Euro).
Spectacular hotel in a great location with magnificent views of Porto. Our room, with a private terrace, was amazing - very spacious and beautifully furnished. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast buffet was out of this world! I would rate The Yeatman among the best hotels I have stayed in.
The space is designed with taste and soul, from the furniture to the wall art, and the bed and sheets are top end. Great location to explore Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. And the host Jorge is super genial and helpful. Thank you, and I hope to return soon. Highly recommended.
We loved every single moment we spent a the hotel, one of the best places to stay in whole of Portugal. The service is unmatchable, staff is friendly and professional, interiors are luxurious and welcoming. Perfect stay and we definitely will be coming back many times
We traveled with a dog and it was an amazing facility to walk with him in a small park next to hotel building. The room was nice. We liked the pool. Convenient parking. The location was quite ok to get to most touristic areas of Porto by taxi.
Carla the host was absolutely incredible! every hotel needs someone like her for the best tips for the city!
The property exceeded my expectations offering the best views of Porto from our bedroom!
I would definitely stay again!
Loved everything about the Hotel, Staff and location. Honestly couldn't fault a thing, they even organised for a trip to the Douro Valley for wine tasting which was brilliant! Would definitely stay again if stopping in Porto.
There is everything you need and the location is great both for visiting Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Public transportation is close. Great owners, met us at the property, explained everything.
Great location, really easy access to Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. Literally located next to the Port wine caves. Property was very good and met our expectations for cleanliness and features
This is perfect location to see Porto for a couple of days. Everything is close by: restaurants, public transportation: parking (17 euro a day). Communication was easy. We'll be back.
This little hotel is such a gem - tucked away in Porto, but the staff are super friendly, great breakfast, and it's super charming. LOVED and would absolutely stay again.
