I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino.
I went in the off-season and did not go to the casino. The incredibly large beach made for great walking. The boardwalk and the promenade were excellent for walking, too. Not a hilly town, per se. And I don't think i would care for high summer season. Uber is easily available and taking the train to / from Coimbra was inexpensive and easy.
I am a serious walker (average 6-8 miles a day) so I found the town easy to navigate.

We spent most of our time close to the Hotel and at Praia da Claridade/ Praia Alto do Viso.
Since it was just one night, we couldn't bring a lot of comments to this.
Nevertheless, we walked thru the night and we had dinner at Feito ao Bife, which is a very nice meat place, where you can eat different types of meat on the stone.
People from Figueira are very kind and warm.
They offer a lot of services and there is as well a Casino if you like to try your luck.
The city in a half season is quite easy to walk or drive.

Figueira da Foz seems to be a working town, not too much of a tourist town. Although it was not beach season and the beach was fog covered, it was very large and beautiful. We found some very good restaurants with traditional Portuguese food.

We loved Fig da Foz!
We loved Fig da Foz! A fairly quite resort town, just what we like! The only drawback is a pulp or paper mill located south of town. When the fog comes in so does the smell of the mill. We would consider living here if the mill is not a huge problem.

I was there in September and it was already dead.
I was there in September and it was already dead. Loads of things closed.
It's pleasant enough with good public amenities but there really isn't anything to do except explore the excellent beach.
Getting around without a car can be a challenge: the station is 25 minutes from the beach and although quite a few buses go to the market (much fewer to the beach) it's close to impossible to find out about them.
I hardly ever saw a taxi.
The best bit for me was lunch at the excellent Cafe Praca 18.

The Claridade Beach is the best place I have visited in Figueira da Foz, lots of seafood and restaurants near by. Jet7.5 near Praça do Forte is a great restaurant with live music! Worth to have a try. I quite enjoy walking by the beach, so all my visit was on foot.

The options offered for breakfast were plenty and amazing in quality, especially the croissants! The rooms smelled divine throughout the entire stay and the bath towels were super plush and huge which is always a bonus. The staff was super friendly and anticipated any needs we needed. The pool and surrounding area is the perfect place to kick back and relax. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing little corner in Figueira da Foz. I’ll be back soon!
It is in a traditional building very well decorated and modernized so that the rooms feel new and comfortable if used mainly for sleeping as they fo not have much free space. We stayed at the top floor and enjoyed the roof window over the toilet
The staff was kind and welcoming
The location is at the heart of the traditional Figueira da Foz and near the market and the Casino
The location is like a hotel with several rooms and a common area with a kitchen. There's no services from the staff apart from the general cleaning. That's odd but also nice since you'll meet the other guests.
The beach is the main thing, very close and really nice. Getting out of the little village (no ATM and only small mini markets) needs a car.
Spacious, comfy, spotless clean and lovely designed apartment in the heart of Figueira da Foz. Close to the beach and restaurants. Not to mention wonderful and supportive hosts. We would really love to stay there for longer one day!
The location was fantastic and easily reachable. The hosts and staff of the hotel were super easy to communicate with, and were always available. The breakfast was included with the stay, and it was very diverse and delicious.
Tastefully decorated with modern fittings. The staff in particular Miguel were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for visiting the best restaurants in Figueira. Parking was available right next to the hotel.
Location of the hotel is great right next to the beach and with an amazing view over the beach, hillside and city. The pool is the top is amazing and it’s big enough to enjoy some time . Breakfast is super nice!
the property has recently been updated. it looks 5 stars and feels 5 stars. a hotel with Stokke chair for the small kids plus high chairs plus play room plus cinema plus gym plus pool. we will be back.
Friendly staff, super comfortable beds, very clean in the room and throughout the hotel, and dog friendly. The location couldn't be better and especially for the value.
Good facilities for price, lovely family run hotel with friendly staff, breakfast good, very clean, happy to make accommodations as needed. Enjoyed our stay greatly.
