The hotel is a remodeled old railway station and the owner has done a fantastic job in creating this very unique spot, she offers a very good and special breakfast, everything is fine the bathroom is a bit on the tight side but the way it has been placed is just gorgeous

Loved this beautiful place. We were interested in going to the small town of Marvao. This was only about 15 minutes away, and we loved being out in the countryside. The check in was easy, the room charming, and the view from the pool amazing. Very casual environment, with her sweet animals wandering about. The breakfast she included was amazing. highly recommend this place!

The surrounds are beautiful for a walk and to have a rest away from urban life. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable! And, most importantly, they accept animals!

We had low clouds and rain both days at Castelo, so we could not do what was planned: to walk in the national park. After seeing the nice ladies in the tourism office we tried the church and its exhibition - good enough for a rainy day. We walked to the castle and the fort and enjoyed the view the first day, there were low-hanging clouds resulting in dense fog on the second day. A few shops amused the ladies while walking around in the rain. There are several restaurants, pubs, etc. in the center. Because of the weather, we opted for a taxi tour to Marvao (less than 20EUR one way) but the town was in very dense fog. We ate at a tapas bar the first evening and in Marvao the second evening. We suspect the tapas bar food gave three of us food poisoning.

We were familiar with the town's historic centre and monuments. However, we were rather disappointed with it for an overnight stay. It was a Tuesday in May and most of the restaurants were closed. For dinner we had to resort to a cheap and very basic "pizzaria", while we had been hoping to be able to try some local specialities.

A beautiful picturesque village which you can wander around and enjoy. Even if the castle is not open you can wander through some of the gateways and find good views down across the village, and more streets, and town walls to clamber on. Ambience in the village was good - clearly lived in and enjoyed (contrast the more famous Marvao which seemed mainly tourist-oriented and a bit bare of the lived-in feel - though it had a great castle). Castelo de Vide also had good restaurants (I particularly recommend Boca D'Agua).

Charming little village.
Charming little village. We stayed 4 km outside of the village center, in middle of beautiful nature. The walk to the center was lovely -- if you like walking, and hiking up a mountain. Driving is only about 15 minutes.

Good location, nice hotel close to large lidl supermarket and 10 mins walk to a large shopping mall. Parking was limited but available in front of the hotel. Air-con was efficient against the summer heat and breakfast was adequate. The hotel followed Covid rules very well.

Castelo de Vide is a very nice and interesting town.
Castelo de Vide is a very nice and interesting town. But in the area there are more places to visit like Marvão, or you can hop over the border and visit Valencia de Alcantara in Spain. All roads are in very good condition and most give you a nice scenic drive. At first parking seems to be problematic in the town, but then we found out that they have all kinds of small and free parking lots right around the edge of the center. So in the end it was easy.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel was decorated in older and antique style furniture so it was like staying in a period house. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and right on the square so we could explore the town. Breakfast was delicious with an amazing array of fresh fruits, local meats and cheeses and homemade breads and pastries.
The staff were all lovely and super helpful. we ended up parking our motorcycles right out the front of the hotel and felt very happy leaving them there in the quiet and safe town.
It was what I expected for the price of the lodging when I booked it (about 25 euros a night). The location was excellent, although Castelo de Vide is small enough that it's a non-factor. It was easy to check in and out, though check-in was not so straightforward. The coffee machine was a nice touch and the owner thankfully had some nice extra warm blankets that were essential since it was rather cold when I stayed. The owner was very communicative and was accomodating when I needed to change the dates for which I was staying last minute.
The convent is a truly fabulous wonderful building, a mixture of old stones and thoughtful renovation mixed in with a truly decorative flair. This hotel screams eclectic chic, a mixture of antique, mid century furniture and collections everywhere of pots and glassware. Comfortable lounges with lots of decoration books and magazines, it was fabulous. Outside a pool, too cold for us to use unfortunately, with old brass beds for lounging, again fabulous. Bruno made us feel very welcome
Spotlessly clean, stylish, equipped with everything you could need, a super comfy bed, a great shower. This traditional house was perfect for our stay in beautiful Castelo de Vide. The produce, some of it home made and all of it local, provided by our fab host Eduardo was wonderful. The stunning view from the outside terrace made breakfast the best meal of the day. We could not have picked a better place to stay and wish we could have stayed longer!
Nuno, the owner, was very kind, helpful & went out of his way to ensure we had a memorable stay. The hotel is in the center of Castelo de Vide so we could walk to everything in the town. We had a view of the mountain. The breakfast was beyond all expectations. We stayed for 4 nights in beautiful Castelo de Vide & if we return will stay at Casa Amarela TH & National Monument. This was our third time to stay here.
We were given an upper floor room with a balcony and a view of the mountains (accessible by lift or stairs). A good buffet breakfast was served in the first floor dining room which has a tree growing through it as part of the décor. There was free parking outside the hotel, which is a few minutes walk to the town centre. It made a good base for walking in the area.
This was a fantastic place just outside Castelo de Vide set in a smallholding beautifully tended by Antonio & Solidad. As hosts they were exceptional and rightfully proud of what they have created. Breakfast, mostly home grown, was the best ever and sitting by the pool was a wonderful end to the day
The owner! She was fabulous. Just delightful. She obviously loves what she does. Very helpful and accommodating. She made an amazing breakfast with endless variety, much of it homemade. Ample, easy on site parking. I can't recommend this place more. Castelo de Vide is a wonderful town, too.
Very cute little place in a renovated train station, excellent breakfast, and very helpful staff--when I needed to find a Covid test they helped me call around to many different places in the area. Well located just a few minutes outside of Castelo de Vide in the beautiful countryside
Unique property. Lavender scent was very pleasant and not overwhelming. Breakfast was very nice & we enjoyed the salt water pool. Close to town Castelo de Vide, yet out in the country. Host went out of his way to assist us.
We hope to be able to return for a longer stay.
We loved our stay in Castelo de Vide, it is such a pretty little town with flowers everywhere. Our accommodation at Casa da Rua Nova was spacious, comfortable, and its location great. Thank you also, for all the extra treats you left for us which we enjoyed very much.
Perfect location to explore Castelo de Vide. Walking around town was a great experience as well as visiting the castle . Great little family restaurants around town. Nice to go back to a clean, comfortable and pleasant space to relax!
In the first place, Castelo de Vide is a gem of a town and Hotel Casa do Parque was the perfect place to stay while exploring such a beautiful place. Simple, no nonsense accomodations with unintrusive but helpful staff.
