Very beautiful and private setting, especially the rural residences. Wonderful restaurant, very personable and helpful staff, a truly lovely retreat up in the hills. The views are amazing! My only suggestion would be to update the gym with a few padded mats and a source of drinking water. The pool was very refreshing, the spa was tepid but the redwood sauna was heaven.
Offering rooms with panoramic views of the next-door Alcobaça Monastery, this hotel offers underground parking for a surcharge and a veranda terrace to enjoy a drink.

Beautiful place with lovely and attentive service. The breakfast was delicious and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.
On average, it costs $75 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Alcobaça for tonight. You'll pay around $129 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Alcobaça will cost around $155, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Loved the town. Much more historical depth than was first apparent. Had a good blend of history and modern. Beautiful old town with street cafés and shops. Ate there several times. Beautiful sce ery - good for leisuraly drives. In the middle of a lot history, and close to the northern beaches, without being touristy at all.

Alcobaça is a great village to visit, I have been there several times, and there is always something different to do for a weekend trip.
António Padeiro as the best portuguese cuisine restaurant, requires a lot of appetite, ideal for lunch times, along with Prattus that is also very good.
Osaka a japanese restaurant for any meal that is very above average with a lot of choices.
Places to visit there is the Monastery in the center of the village, the medievel walls, the street fairs, Alcoa river garden, just being in a coffe lounge and relaxing is great.
A lot to do if you feel like, if there is time to.
Also, near Nazaré and all the sea uniqueness of that area.

I recommend staying at least a complete week-end just for Alcobaça. It's monastery deserves an inside visit, trying to explore all the compound with the help of their guide. Very good and extended offer of restaurants of every kind (some excepcional), and the convent sweets are imprescindible to try. If you have time, there's a lot more to visit and explore on the surroundings, and why not Nazaré?

The Monastery - and especially its kitchen! - is quite unique and definitely worth a visit. Not too big or tiresome to walk around, with a few fine buildings, Alcobaça boasts some fine pastries, pottery and embroidery and is very well situated, close to other sightseeing venues worth the short trip (Óbidos, Nazaré and S. Martinho do Porto beaches, Ourém castle, Fátima). Despite being normally sunny, it can get pretty cold and damp at night due to the fact that it is located in a depression between two rivers.

A "dusty" but not dirty city.
A "dusty" but not dirty city. As with almost anywhere in Portugal, the people were polite and helpful; even the Police!
Elderly and/or disabled visitors should know that it is not easy to park a car near to the Mosteiro.
However, it is a great centre to stay if you want to take-in other places to visit which are within easy driving distances e.g. Nazare, Obidos, Batalha, Fatima and Tomar.
We loved our stay at Vale D'Azenha. The rooms are huge and the Hotel is set in peaceful and quiet surroundings which might not be everyone's cup of tea but it was definitely ours :) You do need a car to get to the Hotel but there is plenty of car parking spaces. The majority of the staff are amazing, very polite and friendly especially in the reception and the cleaning ladies always spoke too. We would have loved to have been able to use the outdoor pool but it was still a little bit chilly during May.
The hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of parking space. We enjoyed the personal attention by the staff and the SPA. Our room (Dom Pedro & Ines Suite) was spacious and clean. We left longing for more!
Wi-Fi worked very well. We believe this is a great stay if you are by car and want to explore the village of Alcobaça. It is also an excellent option if you want to be close to Nazaré (15 min drive), but want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city.
Normally i would not choose to stay in a hostel but actually i was pleasantly surprised! The location was incredible and had a gorgeous view out my window of the monastery. My room was great- simple but cute decoration and clean. I had to work online so it was a perfect spot to do that from and the price at £30 was great! I stayed in a hotel a couple days before for £50 and this hostel was 10x better!
Perfect location, just by the main road from Batalha to Alcobaca, Batalha, cose to Fatima, Tomar... Very friendly staff at the reception with recomandation for excelent restaurant (Antonio Padeiro) for tasty dinner (four Michelim plates 2018 to 2021, but normal prices for food and wine) in Alcobaca and oferring us a free room with billiards, table tennis and table football.

Room was a good size with good built in storage. Love the little balcony and the floor to ceiling wood window shutter. Breakfast room and food was very good. Food choices included heartier eggs plus nice selection of baked goods. The owner provided some suggestions for dining and we had one of the best meals in Portugal at one of her suggestions.
Lurissa, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay there as wonderful and comfortable as possible. From the cleanliness of the property to the wonderful breakfasts, to the lovely views of the countryside, to her advice on our travels, we cannot imagine staying in a better property in Alcobaca.
Historic and charming accommodation with spacious rooms, balcony, and parking. Very impressive. Maria and the staff were quick to respond to any questions, provided information and excellent service. The challet is right in the center of Alcobaca and you can walk to all restaurants & attractions.
Hostess very friendly (like staying with your Mom), accommodation is rooms in her large house. Breakfast very good including homemade jam. Parking very easy directly in front of the house. Location convenient for sightseeing in the area just a few minutes from Alcobaca Monastery.
The lovely woman who checked us in and took care of us, Lara, was fantastic. The hotel provided an atmosphere where the guests spoke to eachother and everyone was in a good mood. The breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this property.
The room was very spacious with AC, extra pillows. The breakfast was diverse enough, with quality products.
Staff were overall very competent and friendly, always available to help and clarifying in any doubt.
The SPA personel were awesome!
Very welcoming hosts. Lovely pool and garden to relax in. Spotlessly clean. Alcobaça is a lovely town and Casa o Futuro is a great place to stay if you want to explore the surfing beaches but want to stay somewhere peaceful (car required)
A lovely place to stay. The room, the breakfast and 5 min walking to the Alcobaça monastery. Pedro is amazing and made our stay perfect. We definitely recommend for a short or a long vacation.
Staying perched above the beautiful town of Alcobaca was a privilege. Seeing the monastery in all its moods… vibrant blue sky, morning mist, sunset… was wonderful.
Absolutely amazing location (right in the center of alcobaca) and terrace with a side-view to the monastary. The personell went above and beyond to help us.
