Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
Great hospitality, excellent off-center location with private parking included (you need a car - bicycles no longer available since covid). Nice swimming pool and well equipped super clean appartment. There is an option for breakfast but we did not had any. The owners are super with a very good attention for detail. I definetely recommend this place - only 10mins drive to the lovely Aveiro center...15 min drive to the beaches.
The flat is located at the very center of Aveiro. Very close (<5 minutes walking distance) to many bars and restaurants. Has a fully equipped kitchen, a wide living room and a mezanine as a separate office. The bedroom is very confortable with a huge closet. Bathroom is spacy and very clean. In fact, all the apartment was throughly clean. The instructions for self-checkin were spot on. It is perfect for a weekend getaway.
Booked a triple room which was exactly as advertised. Parking was available on the street for a low price. Just a few minutes walking from a main street with great cafes, and 15 minutes walking to the center. We didn't do the buffet breakfast at the hotel since there are several good cafes just up the street. Room was cleaned during our stay and the towels refreshed. Overall, comfortable and clean.
The place is located right in the center of everything. The beds are comfy always good when you dont have to climb on bunk beds they were all on the ground. There is a connection, light by your bed and locker which they provide a key for. Showers and bathrooms were clean, good wifi and water pressure. Free breakfast. Overall would stay here in a heartbeat when in Aveiro.
This hotel is really good, the staff is nice, the room is spacious, clean and comfy. Huge shower and there is a bidet in the bathroom (this already is worth a 10!).
Breakfast is fantastic with plenty of options, including pastel de nata!
The location is out the center, in a very quiet area, and just a short 10 min walk to the old town, so very convenient.
Greate staff, they are helpful in ways they don't have to be, probably the best hotel in terms of staff.
It has a good location near the center of the city great, basicly walking distance from the places that matter.
And discounted Moliceiro tour tickets which are really good in terms of convinience and affordability.
The Hotel is very well located in front of the train station in the centre of the city, Aveiro. I haven't been there more than 20 years so I was pumped up to have visited the city again and see how much it's developed. It's a beautiful city. The hotel is spotless and the bed comfortable.
Decent hotel for a rather short stay to explore Aveiro and its surroundings. Not directly in the city center, but the walk isn’t long. Part of the hotel feels a bit dated, and it’s rather a conference hotel than a vacation hotel. Overall totally fine, but don’t expect to be wowed.
I booked the cheapest room, it was good, but I would have needed a table to work, but in the 7th floor with beautiful view it was possible. The cleanness was not 100%, but worth it for that money. Its in the center of Aveiro, everything is close.
The staffs were friendly, especially Tiago. The location is perfectly close to almost everything, the museum, shopping mall, the city center, and Aveiro University. It was a great time staying in this hostel.
Fabulous hotel in a great location, a few minutes walk along the canal from the old centre of Aveiro. Super clean and very comfortable room. Helpful staff, plenty of street parking outside the hotel.
The room was small (as expected), but very comfortable and beautifully decorated. it is easy walking distance from the historic city center. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location was great! The staff was most helpful and the breakfast and rooftop restaurant were lovely.
the room was huge and exquisite. Felt like we were staying in a palace room.
The staff were excellent. The hotel is in a good location about a 15 minute walk to the city centre. The breakfast was good and the hotel was comfortable.
Well located at about 10 minutes walking from the centre of Aveiro. The staff was really helpful. The hotel is modern but has a nice traditional decor.
