Charming townhouse renovated in 2019, with 2 patios overlooking 2 streets in one of the historic areas of Tavira along the Gilao River, at 80 meters from the ferry pier that serves the 13 kms of sandy beaches. Everything is walking distance. You can park a car on paid and free spaces. The house is as comfortable in winter with its good heating, as in summer with its good circulation of fresh air from one street to another. A living room with dining area and open kitchen, opens with large sliding glass doors on the 2 patios, which doubles the living space. Like the architecture with its four-slope roofs and the plantations of succulents and bougainvillea in the patios, the decoration was the object of particular care. On the first floor, each of the 2 bedrooms with beamed ceilings and private terraces are separated by the bathroom. The equipment necessary for the comfort of its guests is complete and recent. The area is very quiet even if the whole life of the city, good restaurants and bars are a few steps away. You can rent bikes and park them in either patio, also rent cars. Tavira train station and the coach station are 15 minutes walk away. Taxis are also readily available.

Our first guests from different countries of the world is a new world tour for us. Welcoming them when they adopt our house, telling them about our city are among the best moments of our retirement in our farmhouse in the countryside of Tavira. We are gradually improving the property where we live, house and garden. With my experience of professional tourism in many countries, especially India, I remain the CEO, otherwise I pamper my flowers and my aromatic herb plantations, purr with our cat who is gently passing her 20 years. For a few years, I have been trying to paint, these are the paintings of the house… Jean-Pierre loves to do his garden, tinkering here and there, reading and writing on all kinds of subjects, he never stops except when we meet our friends over a drink or a Portuguese specialty, Jean-Pierre sings accompanied by his guitar and too rarely by his piano. When calm returns, it is a delight to follow side by side the rhythm of the seasons in an almost perfect climate, without forgetting two months of Summer which bring us back to our sources in the mountains in our beautiful Savoy. Visitors enjoy the calm of the street, the nearby restaurants and bars along the river, as well as taking the ferry to the beach of Tavira Island. The port is one of the three old quarters of Tavira and the house is located one block away. Today devoted to fishing and serving the beaches, it once housed modest families of sailors and fishermen, including "Ti Antonieta" who baptized the house. Going up the Gilão river, after the old market, a walk where a surprising market with old and modern books from all over Europe or almost takes place in the summer. After the Cãmara (City Hall) and the Islamic museum, the old Moorish citadel with the museum, churches, the botanical garden dominates the whole city. If you cross the Roman Bridge, after the Pessoa quay named after the poet's uncle, you will discover the typical alleys with their shops, bars and restaurants.
