Obidos is a beautiful village inside the castle walls.
Obidos is a beautiful village inside the castle walls. There are many good restaurants and shops along with many noteworthy sights. If you go out the back of the castle walls you can overlook the valley and see other villages all to the sound of songbirds. It's like going back in time. We ate at Real Casa do Petisco which had great food, great service and reasonable prices. Try the roast pork belly. Delicious.

Everything was great.
Everything was great. The owners were very welcoming offering us a glass of sherry upon arrival and generously offering us extra food (fruit and crackers) to take when we were leaving. Very nice people.

Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
They did so much to insure our comfort, from stocking the refrigerator to providing an electric mattress pad (sheer bliss!). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and cozy. It is a lovely property with a beautiful view. We would not hesitate to stay there again or recommended to anyone.

I wasn't there long enough to do as much exploring as I would have liked. The castle was very interesting wandering in and around there. If I had more time I would have liked to explore more of the town.

We went to see the Christmas lights.
We went to see the Christmas lights. The main street is beautiful. Also went to Vila de Natal. If you don't have children with you not really worth the price. Because we spent 2 night we had a day to walk around the outside of the walls also.

We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but...
We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but the room we booked was actually in a building attached to the castle. We were not at all happy with our room which disappointed us but the town inside the walls of the castle was fun to walk around. The restaurant at the hotel was very good with great service. If we were to visit again, which we won't, we would avoid room 002 as it is a bit like a dungeon being the lowest room in the hotel.
Marcelo was an excellent, reliable, communicative, and very helpful host! We mistakenly left our passports behind in the room and Marcelo was so accommodating and flexible in meeting us to get them back. The room was exactly as described and was the perfect size for two people. It was comfortable, clean, safe, very reasonably priced, and in a great location in Obidos, steps away from Obidos Castle, great restaurants, and the lovely, quaint streets of Obidos.
Next to the old town’s wall, you are a step away from the old town of Óbidos. Easy for tourists. The place itself is an ancient house many goodie collections. Makes you feel like you stay in an old castle. The host gentleman is very nice and kind. He went to beyond his duty to help me, and I like the accommodation’s breakfast it comes with a lot of fruits and homemade oranges juice. I appreciate the host Jaoe very much. Thank you.
Great quiet place to relax with excellent interiors, well maintained territory, garden and swimming pool. Big spacious rooms, presumably much bigger than what you can get in tiny houses if central Óbidos. Short walk to Óbidos and great views over Óbidos castle. Delicious breakfast in a luxurious dining room of the house. Parking. Play house with toys for kids in the garden.
Obidos was a nice town to rest up in after 14 hour plane trip and having to a two hour drive in Portugal for the first time. We looked forward to a tourist town with lots of eating, sighting, and eating options and got it. Eating a bit out from the very center of town, based on waiter's recommendations, allowed us to eat with more locals and have very good food.
very spacious room, was offered an upgrade, which was fantastic. we were very kindly offered a much larger room, which had a seating area/living space, TV and en-suite.
kitchen was traditional and beautiful, and it was located in a gorgeous little courtyard area, that was private. much outdoor seating was offered.
perfect location within the obidos castle walls
Sara, the hostess was wonderful. She treated us like family and help us with every question and request. She takes so much pride in the property and it shows in eery respect. Obidos is an amazing storybook-like town with lots to see and a castle wall-wall that was a great highlight of our trip. Sara's property is in a great location and we loved it the charm.
Very helpful and attentive hosts with suggestions on restaurants, walks etc.
Modern, spacious and spotlessy clean apartment with everything provided for a comfortable stay.
Easy parking outside the door and yet within 5 minutes walking distance of Óbidos Castle walls, restaurants and shops.
Good WiFi and multichannel TV, Netflix and Amazon.
It is located a little further off which we liked because it had ample space and a free parking on-site and it was very quiet. It also has a wonderful view of the castle and outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy the view and the beautiful garden. Breakfast was fantastic which a lot of variety and fresh fruit. The room was big and clean.
Modern hotel block located right beside a 450 year old aquaduct. Plenty of parking, really quiet, comfortable bed and strong shower.
There is a kitchenette downstairs for everyone to share. If you have supplies for breakfast it is a lovely sunny space to enjoy the view while eating your muesli. Supermarket just around the corner.
I liked this place. We were upgraded and got a balcony. The room was big. The bathroom had a bath tub and nice products including conditioner which a lot of hotels miss. The bed was very comfy. Kettle in the room which is great for tea drinkers rather than just a coffee machine. Location was also very good within the castle walls.
We rented the 1 bedroom apartment which was perfect for 2 people space wise. The location is nice with many trees around the house so you don’t see the roads nearby and the distance from the property to the castle walls +/-10 mins walk away (depending how fast you walk up hill or down hill).
Everything was perfect! From friendly host to cozy and cute house. Every room was very clean, it had everything we needed and bars were very comfortable. Location is also nice, near Óbidos and neighborhood was quiet. It was definitely the best accommodation we had in Portugal!
This is a great hotel, and excellent value for money. Our en-suite room was spacious, with own balcony. Big and confortable bed everything is new and clean. Plenty of parking outside.
Less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of Obidos and two supermarkets.
Guest house is in a wonderful location in Obidos which is a must see for travelers to Portugal. Room was rather big and comfortable. Room very clean and staff was helpful and friendly. Nice common space in the back garden for taking your coffee or breakfast
This is a great location. We only spent one night but I think that's all anyone needs in Obidos. The building is charming. Breakfast was really good but there are no gluten-free options. I don't really expect that in Portugal though.
Very tasteful with minimal space, room just as photos on booking. Comfortable bed and good pillows, which is hard to come by in many Portugal accomodations. . Great staff, friendly, hard working, and helpful. Very clean.
