Lively Gateway to Western Algarve
The 2nd-largest city in Portugal's Algarve region after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. As a golfer this is the perfect spot.
As a golfer this is the perfect spot. Many many quality options with 20-30 minutes. I still think it's the best location when traveling with a family. The beach is awesome and the food choices are excellent. Great access to sea tours and water taxi to Ferragudo from the marina. There's so much to do. Nice little town to walk around, beautiful promenade along the River Arade. Options of long walks along the beaches. Some places require maintenance. Easy access launderettes for long stays and lots of apartments too.

There are few places directly from the city center where you can find yourself so close to the incredible power of nature. The combination of a big city and beautiful natural beaches. Amazing, quiet town with lots of small beaches. One of the most beautiful beaches for me ever. Easily accessible by train, bus, car, taxi, Uber, or boat. About 2 hours from Faro airport. by car. There is everywhere to roam. If you see everything in the city, you don't have to run far to other big cities, but just move to the suburbs, in the east or west by the ocean. You will also be charmed and surprised by their natural scenery.

The room was also quite big and with access to the balcony - With a view to the football stadium :) The location is great for taking buses around in Algarve and the train station is also not that far away. The hotel is in front of the police station, thus it is really save there. It is 2 min away from the beach and a lot of restaurants are near by. Pros: -Small hotel, get to know everyone -Really nice staff, they helped us with every problem and supported everything we wanted to to/change -good Wifi -we hat to cancel our stay earlier because of Corona and they gave us back all the money of the remaining days, really nice and kind

And 30 min walk to the old part of the city with its authentic businesses. The front desk worker - young man - was very helpful. Room is quite spacious. Interior design of the room is great, very lovely. View was very good (mine was with sea view) considering another hotel in front of it. Everything worked. I skipped breakfast, so I can't comment on it.

Nice and quiet, all you'll hear at night is the sound of crickets. If you have a car they have a private carpark with your own garage.
