A luxury, purpose-built resort along the Algarve region coastline offering a variety of accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to villas and apartments, Vilamoura is the largest complex of its type in Europe. It is conveniently located, 16 km from Albufeira and 25 km from Faro Airport.

Although the area was developed from scratch by the Porto banker Cupertino de Miranda in 1974, its origins date back to Roman times. The Cerro da Vila Museum tells the story of the ancient fishing town, and displays the ruins of the Roman baths from the 1st century.

Beautiful place, fantastic food.
Beautiful place, fantastic food. Lots of trips you are able to book when you're there like parasailing, fishing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, visit the caves, there's a waterpark nearby, beaches are beautiful and clean. It was perfect for a family holiday and we had great weather while we were there.

Vilamoura is a nice resort, we had not been there before, most activity at night is centred at the marina, where there are loads of restuarants and bars to suit everyone. Beach was lovely I would go back again, but definitley not to the apartment we stayed in , the apartment itself was fine but not the location or the very old run down building it was in. I would not recommend it to anyone .

Great location with fantastic restaurants around the Marina and the streets behind. Easy to walk everywhere, plenty of shops and supermarkets in addition to local businesses. We loved the atmosphere and the warm welcome in bars and restaurants. Weather was constantly warm and sunny, average 26 degrees for 1st 2 weeks in October. I have stayed in Vilamoura many times and simply love the place and its vibrancy, great restaurants and bars. I would personally recommend one bar especially to visit and that is Als Bar a very high standard and great drinks with stunning bar area with a superb host namely Al. This bar is just off the Marina behind the road where the taxi rank is situated in a square with 4 restaurants in the vicinity.

The room was big with a big balcony (apartment on 5th floor) and excellently equipped. The only point I would make is that it is certainly dated but spotlessly clean. This hotel needs upgrading. It was just for one night and if I was staying longer in Vilamoura I would prefer to stay in a more luxurious hotel. I would rate it as a 3 star hotel. My husband would rate it as 2 star. However, it was a very pleasant stay for one night. Staff were excellent. Thank you.

The bedrooms are absolutely stunning, we had a deluxe bedroom, which was very spacious, luxurious furniture, fabulous bed and well equipped mini bar. breakfast at the property was amazing. Champagne breakfast was on the menu and anything that you could think of you could have. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The spa was lovely as was the outdoor swimming pool. loved that the hotel offered a free minibus shuttle down to the marina and we use this a few times .

I was travelling with a very elderly relative and everyone was very helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a 'marina' view which meant it was a little noisy at night (but that's hardly the hotel's fault). Would book sea view next time. Lovely range of toiletries and very fluffy bathrobe and slippers. Breakfast was perfect, except for the coffee I'm afraid. Sunbeds were plentiful and prices were as expected for a 5*.

The room was great, a minutes walk from the hotel and they left us a lovely surprise as it was our anniversary! As it was out of season, it wasn't too busy but still a bit too cold to use the outdoor pool! The indoor pool was very clean and lovely and warm! The breakfast selection was great, plenty to choose from and service was good! It's about a 5mins taxi ride from the centre and 20-30mins in taxi to the airport so handy enough!

Location quiet relaxing and convenient for the beach marina and local restaurants. Pool area clean with sun beds available we had it to ourselves most days! All staff we had contact with were helpful and pleasant ( even when we locked the keys inside!) Thoroughly recommend if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break will be back hopefully.
