O Remoinho

O Remoinho is an ancient windmill adapted as a house and entirely remodeled in 2014.

It is about 500 years old and is a typical portuguese windmill used to mill cereals over the years.

Due to its privileged location in the West coast, this windmill has served as a land reference point for navigation over the centuries. For that, it is referenced in the portuguese navy still today.

Offering sea views, the Remoinho is a refurbished windmill with a 2000 m² garden and free WiFi. It is located in Ericeira, 400 metres from the beach. The windmill is divided in 3 different levels. On the ground floor, a rustic-style kitchen is equipped with all the necessary equipment to prepare meals. A bathroom is also included. A second level with cushions provides guests’ the coziness of relaxation with the sound of music. One level up, and guests will find a large double bed in the bedroom. At arrival, guests will find the refrigerator filled with breakfast items, such as milk, eggs, honey, yogurts, coffee and tea. Bread is left each morning at the door. There is also a biological herb garden, which guests can use, as well as barbecue facilities. The Remoinho has 2 bicycles for guests’ use, and Mafra National Palace is 10 km away. Lisbon International Airport is 44 km from the Remoinho windmill.
