The stairway that climbs the 16 metres (381 feet) up the wooded hillside to the church of Bom Jesus do Monte in Tenões, just outside Braga.
For the truly devout the stairs are taken, with the last few flights climbed on the knees. The alternative is to take the hydraulic funicular that was built in 1882!
