Rua do Carmo - Lisbon, Chiado

Rua do Carmo runs from Lisbon's Chiado district down to the central Baixa district. It is considered one of Lisbon's more fashionable shopping streets with an eclectic mix of international brands and Portuguese cultural institutions. Situated at the bottom of the street and rising nearly 50 metres (150ft) up is the Elevador de Santa Justa, a fantastical, ornate elevator that joins the Baixa to Largo do Carmo.
