Bussaco Palace

Spelt either Bussaco or more commonly Buçaco the palace here is not what it seems. Firstly it is only Manueline in style, it was completed in 1907, long after the rein of King Manuel.
Secondly, the palace is now a hotel. Only 3 years after its completeion the monarchy was overthrown and Portugal became a republic.

Bucaco Palce

The Palace of Bucaco (or Bussaco). The palace is now an upmarket hotel but was built as a retreat for the Portuguese monarchy. Completed in 1907, the palace only had 3 years of use before the monarchy were overthrown and the country became a republic
