Diamond Guesthouse is located on the first two floors of 284 Rua da Palma. The building is an historic building of Lisbon dating back to 1875. The building has had many uses in the past including being used by the ministry of defence during the Portuguese revolution of 1974-1975,it was also a school during the 1980s . The building is now solely used for residential purposes with some shops located on the ground floor. The property is currently entering into the third phase of an extensive renovation programme,the second floor having just been completed with total replacement of the electrical installation to meet current legislation,complete new water supply system and water heating units ,three new bathrooms added and a complete new kitchen for guest to use , all of the floors have been sound isolated and a new laminate floor covering applied. All of the original ceiling plasterwork has been restored to as new condition and retains the original character of the building.The property is located on Rua da Palma which is one of the principal street of the city and as such can become very busy during peak times,Rua da Palma is a lively multicultural mixture of many different nations
