Looking through the entrance arch back towards the palace. You get an idea of the mix of architectural styles - Moorish arches, Manueline windows and a bit of kitsch thrown in for good measure.
The palace was built by King Consort Fernando of Saxe Coburg-Gotha during the Romantic period (the 1860s)
