Port Boats - Vila Nova de Gaia

Traditional port boats lined up on the riverside at Vila Nova de Gaia. The sail boats, known as a barco rabelo, were used for carrying the barrels of port down the river Douro from the producers to Gaia where they would be stored and shipped.

The bridge behind is Porto's Ponte Dom Luis I, built in 1886
