Sintra Quintas

Looking down on some of Sintra's imposing Quintas in the woods of the Serra da Sintra.The large one in the centre is the Quinta da Regaleira (or Palácio da Regaleira), which like many of the iconic landamrks of Sintra was built much more recently than would appear. It was built for Carvalho Monteiro in 1910 and it is said that the same key that opens the front door also opens Monteiro's tomb.
