Madeira Weather: When to Go and Visit?
Christmas is peak season in Madeira and with accommodation prices almost double the yearly average it might be best avoided given the weather is great for much of the rest of the year.
Madeira has what is generally described as a mild sub-tropical climate with average temperatures ranging from winter lows of around 17°C (62°F) in February up to a balmy 23°C (75°F) in September.
Despite only being a small island rainfall varies from coast to coast. The highest rainfall tends to occur between October and March and more so on the northern coast. Funchal can be fine for much of the year.
