Dated from 1883, the building witnessed the history of the last century - which includes powerful moves that led to the establishment of the Republic in Portugal - hosted former municipal archives and, in our hands, suffered a minimal intervention, but assumedly contemporary in order to become the accommodation of choice for demanding guests.

We made the necessary adjustments to the functional requirement that is now imposed, trying to respect the past and memory. We chose furniture that unites the contemporary language to the existing at the beginning of the century, we added comfort and created an accommodation endowed with large dorms equipped with reading lights and individual storage, bright suites with reading area and television, spacious family rooms, adaptable to the special needs of guests that travel as a family or group, and inviting common areas. Here, our guests have fully equipped kitchen, bar, lounge and an attractive garden.

Conveniently located in central Porto, this hostel has free WiFi throughout and provides a daily breakfast. Featuring rooms and dormitories, the unit is just 650 metres from the famed Aliados Avenue. The Porto Republica is set in a renovated historic building, with wooden floors and an elegant and clean décor. All dormitories come with access to shared bathroom facilities. Some of the private rooms have their own bathroom, while others access shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms include a flat-screen cable TV.
