Located just to the east of Albufeira old town is Praia do Inatel - a lovely, wide stretch of golden sand. This is the next beach along after the town's main beach (Praia dos Pescadores) and is around a 10 minute walk from Albufeira. Whilst not quite as busy, Praia do Inatel is rather popular during the summer months.
The name of the beach comes from the Inatel Albufeira Hotel which somewhat dominates the backdrop as well as providing a pleasant spot for a coffee. This is set in front of the low, ochre-coloured cliffs that run along this section of coast between Albufeira town and Praia dos Alemães a little further along.
As one of the Algarve's many Blue Flag beaches, Inatel has plenty of facilities, which along with calm waters, make it an ideal family beach. Along with a couple of beach-side restaurants there is a seasonal lifeguard service, showers & toilets and sun-lounger / parasol hire.
Most beachgoers get to Praia do Inatel on foot from the surrounding resorts and the beach has no dedicated parking. There is some parking available behind the beach on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique.
